Finally! Fridaaay.

It's here! Finally Friday!! To make it extra special Charlie is doing it All Right today–10 enthusiastic points for great colors and fit and–relatively–few wrinkles. Look how great those colors look. (Imagine not office lighting).

Today I'm also loving Plums from Ana, mm mm mmm...

And this combo of juicy red polish plus off-white snakeskin...

Rejoice, it's a Good Color Day.

Plum interlude

Today we are enjoying yummy plums from Ana. My stupid camera doesn't do them justice but the colors are DELICIOUS.

**Public Service Announcement**

He drives among you.

There. You've been warned.

To be fair, I dropped in the YouTube graphic. Boss Fail claims that he puts his crackberry there for easy viewing of maps/directions, but we all know he's really on email.

Too violet Tuesday with a pleat for good measure

Let's start with the good because it won't take long: today Charlie wore a nice white t-shirt under the button down. Good.

This is one of those so-close shirts... It's a nice enough purple, just all wrong for our Charlie. It's a dusty reddish purple which again brings out the orange tone in his complexion. He needs an indigo purple–just a shade more blue would be PERFECT. Note the lovely pleat across the top of the shoulder... Could you make a crease that deep and perfectly irregular even if you tried? True talent required.

Note the sleeves rolled up above the elbow. This is a Charlie-ism. Let me know if you know anyone else who does this.

Also: no photo available but light stonewashed jeans + white socks + black salad loafers are a fail.

Meh Monday

A typical meh Charlie day–the shirt is nice enough but the color is all wrong. It's white and blue striped, a clear light blue that brings out the orange in C's skin tone (see closeup below). Not flattering. On a positive note, wrinkles are not too bad–they're all horizontal at least. But, those terrible shuffle-up-to-the-salad-bar loafers again.

So close Friday

First, some random info about my subject matter. Charlie is in his late 20s, a bachelor living on his own, no siblings, and supposedly 5' 11" tall. He has a very difficult skin tone, I fully acknowledge this. It is that super fair pink tone that readily looks yellow or orange or sick if you put the wrong color next to it. My major beef with Charlie is that he favors washed out shades of beige and gray, and when he does wear color it is usually ALL WRONG GIMME THE ERASER.

So, today's clothing is actually quite good--on the Charlie scale i give it a solid 7. The brown rugby is a good color and style, and there are no obvious wrinkles on top or bottom. Points have been deducted as follows:
  1. Buttons done all the way up.* It looks odd and uncomfortable. And he is wearing a t-shirt underneath.
  2. White socks with black shoes. NEVER. unless you're a japanese schoolgirl.
  3. Black loafers. Not heinous, but this particular pair is for a boring 50-yr-old. And i know that Charlie owns a pair of brown casuals.
*To be fair, C explained that he intentionally did that top button so as not to offend us (Syd and me) with his chest hair. However, upon undoing that button we discovered that chest hair was not in fact visible, so it's all moot.

Bonus wrinkle Thursday

For now i'm just planning to post show-n-tells of my friend Charlie's daily fashion... Today is a good day to start because the outfit itself is not too bad: he's wearing his Friday shoes (cute gray Vans) and a matching t-shirt–gray with red trim. It's Bonus Wrinkle Thursday because the wrinkles are going in not just one direction (left/right up/down) but ALL directions. See Exhibit A.
